My husband and I felt so welcomed. The food was amazing. The owners make you feel you're family. Thank you for your gracious hospitality
Honestly gotta say there food is awesome, but the service was definitely suspect! We were sat down immediately but service took forever... Was tempted to get up and leave several times but we were visiting Orlando, and planned to get on the highway after eating... If it wasn't for the food, this place would have received 3 Stars...#ijs
I had been thinking about visiting Chef Eddie's for a while but after seeing the inconsistencies in the reviews just never came. A friend was in town and we were close by so went ahead and had lunch there.
Tonight was my first visit and I didn't know what to expect: a friend took me. We shared chicken and waffles and the smothered pork chop meals. The flavored waffle was yummy, although the chicken wasn't my favorite--but I'm not really a fan of fried chicken either. The smothered pork chop meal was plentiful and tasty. I loved those complementary jalapeno muffins with the pineapple butter! And I can't forget the best part--the service. The slogan on the door says something about Chef Eddie's being an experience, and it was. Our server was amazing and made my first visit great. I will definitely return.
The place is kind of outdated and dusty. Could use some sprucing up, cleaning up and updated decor. Seems they do the fried chicken very well and that is what most people come for, the fried chicken and waffles. The One star is for my friend's chicken & waffles which they said they enjoyed. After waiting all of this time to check it out, don't think I will visit again. Hopefully they get things together but seems the locals love it. I really hope they read their reviews and turn things around. It's in a prime location near the Amway Center.
The menu is rather extensive and I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted. Finally narrowed it down to either ribs & chicken or turkey wings. Our server suggested the ribs & chicken. My chicken was extremely dry and the ribs were tough and not tender as all. The green beans were a little on the overcooked side and the mac & cheese was not to my liking either. I did like the flavor of their bbq sauce.
Went there for my lunch break and it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Two piece chicken with garlic bread and Mac and cheese, and an Italian sausage hot sandwich. We where one of three tables that we're there when we walked in, I don't feel like it should have taken anywhere near that long for what we ordered. We finally had to change our dine in order to carry out because I was already late getting back from my lunch break. We ate our meals in my truck driving back to my office. The marinara sauce on my Italian sausage was flavorless and the fries tasted like they were frozen and warmed up in a microwave. My girlfriends chicken was flavorless and had a hint of a fish taste, the Mac and cheese had hope, but the pasta was overcooked. I would gladly went back despite the long wait for some good soul food, unfortunately my soul is still hungry.
I really wanted to love this place, because I believe in supporting local businesses. The service was extremely slow. We both ordered lemonade for our drinks. It had wayyyy too much sugar. My friend only took a sip of his and we asked to switch to water. They never warned us how extremely sweet it was and they didn't even take it off his bill. I had drank about half of mine, so it was no big deal.
