I accompanied my husband to his dermatology appointment on June 20th, 2017. We arrived early and we were admitted by the nurse practitioner who basically ran the entire appointment, with the exception of the 30 second doctor appearance, where this nurse practitioner informed the doctor of her diagnosis, and then shuffled the doctor out of the examination room. My issue with this entire experience is it is hard enough for me to get my husband to go to his doctors’ appointments, without having a nurse practitioner act as though the patient is wasting the hospital’s time. More than once she commented that she couldn't believe that they sent this, to them, meaning my husband’s main doctor referring his irregular mole to see the dermatologist. When I commented that it was better safe than sorry, the nurse practitioner replied "No", hand me pamphlets on different skin lesions, and my impression was that in the future we should just self-diagnose, until we came up with something that was closer to skin cancer, because that was what I was informed that they treated at this hospital.
Very clean and modern facility, and the service is quick. Staff I've run into were very professional. Parking can be a bit tricky, and the traffic flow and signs are a bit weird.
Great “Customer Service”. I took my father Rafael Carreras to the VA Center for the first time after coming from Puerto Rico. The service provided by the Enrollment Office, Pharmacy, and Eye Clinic was exceptional. Transferring his records and scheduling with a Spanish speaking Primary Care Physician, getting meds refill, scheduling an ophthalmologist visit and the replacement of my father eyeglasses was a smooth, stress free process. Leaving the island after Hurricane Maria was very stressful for my parents. VA... you made a difference to them. Thank you!
I'm very grateful for all services rendered. The physicians, nurses and staff have been very professional & attentive. They seem genuinely concerned about my well being. In addition they've helped my achieve my goals both physically and mentally. The scope of my experience at both locations range from Primary care with Dr. George, All radiology staff, Dr. Green in Podiatry/Prognostics, as well as cardiology.
Sincerely,
To all staff, Thank you for the good experience.

My experience at this location as well as the Baldwin Park/Orlando facility have been excellent. I'm amazed at how nice the Lake Nona VA Hospital turned out. I feel very fortunate to have access to both facilities.
In all the years since 1974 I've had to have VA care, Lake Nona is the best care and service I have ever recieved. The VA has finally stepped up there service to provide great care for us veteran's. Thanks to th VA.
