My girlfriend and I both got seen a week ago on a Monday. It was slammed. We were there like 6 hours she was able to get into a room and I was stuck in the hallway. We both were seen for having terrible migraine's that lasted about three days. The staff was super nice. It was super uncomfortable to have an I.V in the hallway while tons of people walk by every 5 minutes. It would have been nice to have a nice quiet room. The hospital is plenty big, but have to do better about accomating er patients. Everyone should have a room or they need to build a fast track room for not so emergency cases. Other than that we were happy about the care.
The staff at this hospital is outstanding! The nurses and techs are the most helpful and compassionate I have ever seen! Our nurse Friendy shined a bright light in a dark situation! He is warm , friendly and the most caring person I have met!!
My mom was brought to this hospital by ambulance with signs of a TIA. It seems like the ER doctors were very understanding and wanted to find answers they ordered a CT scan and MRI and wanted to admit her. When the admitting doctors came in to check her out they were also very nice. I asked them to please make sure my mom gets her night time meds so she will be able to sleep and they said they sure will. They also said they will give her Benadryl and a nicotine patch along with fluids. Well when they took her to MRI they stopped her fluids and never started it again. When she got to her room she was never given her night medicine nor her nicotine patch. My mom asked for a rag to wash her face off and her nurse threw a rag at her. And my mom said can you please wet it for me because she couldn’t get up and the nurse copped a attitude. It came to the point when my mom was very upset and they weren’t taking care of her so I got her out of there. What is the sense of anyone being admitted if they are not going to take care of them but would rather treat the patients like they are a true bother when they are just sick. This hospital is very sickening. Never going to go back there.
My husband was in that hospital, I had the worse experience with nurses..they all seem to be tired , they don't like their job, there is no communication between patient and nurses. My husband needed a wound vac change and Linda the nurse didn't know what the problem was and left for a lunch break without fixing it.i had to call her again to get it fixed and she said she was going to find someone to do it because she didn't have a clue.took hours to solve this problem. Terrible service at the cancer center 9th floor. Care coordinator socks. I would never go back to that hospital .
My mother had surgery on Tuesday and although I knew she was going to be taken careful of, the staff was caring, patient and understanding. I especially want to praise the Guest Services staff members. They were professional, caring, attentive, and friendly. I have never been to a hospital where there was staff that was assigned to me when I was not the patient. They made sure I was comfortable, knew when surgery started and ended, how she was doing, when I was able to visit her, what I should expect, when the doctor wanted to talk to me privately and keeping me abreast with everything. There was a waiting room for family and friends to wait for news of their loved one. The waiting room had chairs or recliners to relax in, there were also blankets to keep you warm. In this waiting room there were private rooms for consultation with the doctor. I felt so relaxed and reassured that all was being made possible to make things easier for me. Thank you ORMC for all that you did.
