Ride is great. The problem the staff. The staff say bad words and let all the express go and when there is none left in express, they let the regular line go. I hate It here at this ride. It is the most busiest but the ride itself is good. The employees mess up your day. I waited here for 2 hours 30 minutes cause staff couldn't let me in the ride. If universal reads this, you need to train your employees like Disney no like garbage workers. And I know universal doesn't care cause I had a bad experience with them already.
45+ minutes- Don't get in line, it is a waste of time. Just don't do it.
If you don't enjoy a lot of forward movement, this is the ride for you. Makes you feel like you're on a rollar coaster without being on one. Overall positive experience.

35-45 minutes- Only get in line if you are a Despicable Me fan, or have nothing better to do.
It's usually quite a long queue if you haven't got an express pass, however it is a great 3D ride. A definite must, but I wouldn't do the queue twice.
20-35 minutes- You will most likely feel slightly shortchanged. (Normally you wait longer than this too!)
0-20 minutes- You will feel you waited the right amount for a ride that feels like it only lasts 2 minutes. (It is rare to only wait 20 minutes or less)

Just another IMAX movie like shreck -ish but if you are a minions fan it is very worth the (long) wait !
