Really fun place for the family with lots of options. Food is good but don't expect an incredible meal. It's not meant to be a 5 star restaurant, but it's clean and consistent with lots of drink and food options. Decent amount of seating. Fast service and cheerful staff.
Negatives: food was not good. Waits for food were over 30 minutes from the Grill Shop. The shrimp on the "create your own ricebowl" were absolutely disgusting. And I can eat 2 quarts of shrimp in one sit. I took 1 bite and took it back to counter.
The beignets were...okay. I expected more of a funnel-cake flavor and batter as I've experienced in the past, but these tasted like they were whole grain-whole wheat and were heavy, not light and fluffy. Covered in powder sugar, you have to pay an extra amount if you want chocolate or raspberry sauce to dip them in. Really they should charge $0.99 for sauce instead of the couple of bucks they do.
Positives: nice and quiet. Since its small everything is easy to find. Cast members were very nice as almost always at Disney.
The Shrimp & Grits gets 5 Stars! If you've read any of my other reviews, you should know that Shrimp & Grits is a favorite of mine but I am absolutely critical of each one I try and my husband will do an eye roll and groan whenever I order it out of anticipation of my complaining, ha! So he ordered this one and I snuck a bite....or twenty. The portion was HUGE and it was so delicious! I don't believe he and I finished the bowl.
Overall, I plan to make my future stays at Riverside if possible due to that being a much bigger better resort in my family's opinion.
We had already enjoyed our stay at Port Orleans, but the Shrimp & Grits has sold me on making a return visit there one day! What a great Food Court at this Disney hotel!
Have been there many, many times. This was our last time. Cold food (yes,I know they have microwaves). Also my husband's grits were terrible. Love Disney but not this place.
Amazing food! They do gluten free when you ask the chef. Tried their Shrimp and Grits and the Jambalaya. Both truly amazing and unique in taste. Also their beignets!! Yummy!! All of that gluten free for anyone who is celiac and wants to try beignets...this is the place! Also not a bit expensive.
