My grandmother was a baker. Her brother had a bakery in Cleveland for years. Her kuchen, donuts, coffee cakes, pies, etc... Best EVER. After she passed in 1987 I didn't have anything that would compare. After I developed celiac 5 years ago I haven't had ANY of those things. This place is fantastic! Not only is it good, it takes me back to my youth! I absolutely love it and I'm very grateful for this experience! I'm delighted to know I can order and they deliver! TO OHIO!!! VERY GOOD!!
I was SO EXCITED walking into the store! I'm gluten and dairy intolerant, and smelling the smells and knowing I could eat ANYTHING was the BEST!!! I splurged on a few donuts, a coffee cake, and a cupcake. EVERYTHING was delectable, but the coffee cake was perfection! They were so nice and even gave me one of my donuts on the house, I think because I was so enthusiastic!
We grabbed several things from here to eat for breakfast: Cinnamon roll, chocolate- glazed donut, coffee crunch donut, caramel apple donut, and a thin mint. It's all gluten free so everything was fairly dense, but no complaints here. The thin mint was the best thing by far! We were thrilled to have some treats available that we're safe to eat. Worth stopping in!
This place is truly an allergy kids dream come true! My son is highly allergic to milk, eggs, nuts, peanuts, wheat, gluten, and soy). We try to plan ahead but many times he has to watch the other kids dig into their desserts because nothing is safe for him. Well...all that stops the moment he walks into the door of this special bakery. EVERYTHING in here is safe! We were in vacation this past week in Orlando and made it a family stop just about every day. They even have coconut based ice cream which is not only safe but delicious! All of the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Cody was working everytime we went and he went above and beyond to make our experience amazing! Cody even saved some pineapple upside down cakes for us on our request to make sure they didn't sell out before we got there and called me to confirm they were waiting for us. Where can you find that kind of service these days? We have also visited the original location in NYC where we met the owner Erin McKenna. She is so passionate about what she does. I'm not sure which we enjoyed more.....meeting her or the amazing treats! Highly recommend this establishment to any and all parents that have kids with allergy challenges!
I loved it here! Having a gluten allergy myself, it felt amazing to be able to walk into a bakery and order WHATEVER I WANTED! The staff was very nice too, and I have a feeling we'll be coming back here!
