Speaking on the customer service.
All agents should be trained and well informed with the correct information for perfect customer satisfaction.
Parking is terrible. Few spaces, even with metered parking on street. Drop and go I guess.
There is but one vendor there. No other places to rest or wait on a train.
Talked to a reservation agent Saturday about missing my train and was told to call back during the week to talk to Customer Relations who are only open on the weekdays. They can then assist me with a ticket voucher to use my already purchased ticket on a different date. When I called Customer Relations they were unable to help me, told me that there was nothing they could do, that I got false information, that my ticket is now in forfeit status because of the time that has passed and that the agent I spoke to could have actually issued this voucher. Oh and that there was no supervisor that I could talk to.
Relaxing ride from Miami to Orlando. While I didn't take in the scenery (if there was any), the seats were comfortable. It was like going on an airplane except there is SO much leg room, the seats go back more than the plane, and free WiFi.
Not only was I dissatisfied with this particular station but my oerall amtrak experience. The station was very dated (no screens inside or on the platform) and the bathrooms were cleaner than some gas station bathrooms but still pretty nasty. The people in the station were very sketchy looking and you could tell they were close to or below the poverty line. My train kept getting delayed (currently 3 hours and counting) and we were getting no explanation. Finally we went to refund my ticket and asked what exactly the issue was and were told the southbound train was slow on passing our train (apparently 3 hours slow???). This is the first time I have ever booked with amtrak and it didnt make a very good first impression. You would think with something so time sensitive they would try and prevent major delays. Just stick to driving folks.
Station building is pretty, the SunRail tracks are obviously in good condition. Amtrak platform is from a lower level but do it's work. Loading speed for Amtrak however should be upgraded.
For its age it's better than one would expect. Still pretty clean however.
