Very nice camping area. The grounds were so clean. Large, spacious bathrooms. Quite accommodating for larger motor homes. Will definitely return with family in the future!
Only reason it did not get 5 starts from me is the super tight loops and campsites. Pulling a 32 foot trailer around some of those loops is hard; backing into a spot can be harder but doable. I have no problem backing -- it's that the spots were made long ago for smaller rigs. HOWEVER -- the atmosphere, the outdoor movies, and more all make it worthwhile. We are going to try the "higher end premium" spots next time for "larger rigs" and go from there. If we are not staying at a resort, this is where we are.
Nice park and complete with the Disney charm and cleanliness. Only downfall was all sites are back-in and I saw several visitors, including myself, having problems trying to get their rigs in the sites. Trash containers seem to add to the problem not allowing rigs to pull forward to help straighten up. I did have a nice neighbor help me into my site. Disney cast should be commended at their conduct regarding my service dog. No one attempted to pet her, welcomed her with no problem everywhere in the campground, and treated us both with the utmost respect. Overall it was a great stay.
I would love to give this place five stars however I simply cannot. Walt Disney World has long left the extravagance and luxury that it wants possessed in the seventies eighties 90s and even into the 2000s.
The lack of security and the relaxed security measures are major concern for me and my family. Driving on Motorcoach into the campground I almost ran over a golf cart because they felt it necessary to cut in front of me. Management seems to allow rowdiness that was never allowed at years ago and the fix is very simple, enforce the rules that are there. Are people going to be upset and do people feel like they're going to be discriminated against absolutely, people who don't follow rules feel like they're being picked on because they don't follow the rules however, you have families like mine who have the means to come to Disney World and we expect when we pay top dollar to get top-dollar service. We are not the only people that feel that way and the issues need to be addressed. There were times where people almost got trampled by bicycles because they were riding on the Walking path, and when security was notified of a lot of the hazards going on such as people's plumbing and sewage backing up with poo and they're being a smelly issue nothing was done about it. I was not escorted to my site and for the amount of money my family spent we just simply expected a greater service than what we received.
We stayed at the cabins in the Disney Campground. Very nice. We used to camp there in tents when we were younger, but the cabins are the way to go now that we are older. Make sure to rent a golf cart as well. It makes getting around so much easier. You can go to the parks, but there is plenty to keep you busy without the parks if you so desire. Don't be surprised to see deer and turkey. We are ready to plan our next camping trip!
So why did we give this four stars, simply because the ambience of Disney was there and the location was awesome. The staff that we encountered were very nice and for the most part the people in campers that surrounded us we're really cool. Will we stay here again, if and only if there is a really awesome deal but if there is not then we will more than likely stay at the KOA.
