Issue was NOISE. The place next door had a live band, yet Funky Monkey felt the need to also keep blasting their own canned music. This meant that my right ear took in the live music, and my left one suffered through conflicting recorded music. End result - I could enjoy neither.
Recommendation: if a nearby place has all the doors open and is rocking a live band, give up and don't compete. Your diners will thank you for it.
Food was very good. Server was attentive. Margaritas (half off for happy hour while there were very good) Had fried goat cheese app and the corn fritters app. Some rolls and other such for dinner and everything was good. No complaints!
Left an honest but polite 2 star review on their Facebook page and was told I was a moron and they don't want my business anyway. Worst customer service in Orlando.
Service was fine. Decor is nice.
Food was hit or miss - had 2 things - some fritter things, and the shrimp dumplings. Fritters were undercooked - doughy inside. Shrimp dumplings were good, though the waiter didn't make the effort to tell me what the 4 or 5 pretty sauces he brought with them were until I asked him (as he was walking away).
Awful food, awful service from a botoxed robot, and overpriced wines, even considering the location,in the heart of the tourist district. Only two tables occupied when we were there, and server, who had more plastic surgery than Joan Rivers, was slower than molasses, and could not have been more sullen if she (or he)tried. One of, if not THE , worst dining experiences I have ever had in the Orlando area.
I would have gave them zero stars if I could. I was with a party of nine. All agreed: Poor food, over priced and poor service. I ordered the burger. How hard is it to make a decent burger!! Worst burger I've ever had by far. Friend bought the Rib eye. It was thick, but had some kind of nasty chili sauce on it. I didn't believe the bad reviews... Should have!
