Arriving and departing from MCO is pretty efficient. The rental car return process is very fast and well handled. Decent variety of shops at the various terminals for food while you're waiting at the gate. Signage when arriving and departing on the highways is pretty clear as long as you're paying attention. Even if you miss your turn you can go around the ring road again to hit your exit.

I am in at least 20 different airports every year so I have a good taste of what there is across the USA. I would rank Orlando near the top. It was clean, security was quick and easy to navigate. Their pick up location for all the shuttles and what not was very well designed and efficient. I am not sure why more airports don't copy what MCO does. I always enjoy flying in and out of Orlando.

I didn't think you could make an airport worse than LAX, but here it is - Orlando. A block long line of people waiting to take a tram after getting off the plane because they send the bags to Terminal A when your plane lands at Terminal B. Signs pointing to blank walls, saying that's the way to baggage claim. Maybe if I broke through the wall? No help at all from the people who work there. Today I'm going back home, and it's just as bad leaving at 4AM as it is arriving at 9PM. No signs, or contradictory signs. No indication if I'm in the right place or not. The bright spot was 1 airport employee who was friendly, if not so helpful. The dark spot is that my flight information says Terminal A, but I'm assured my flight will land at Terminal B. But not really Terminal B, they just call it that because no one knows why. But definitely not Terminal A. Or at least that's what I'm told. Will my flight leave from here? No idea.

Keep in mind this spacious airport is undergoing improvements so review your route to or from and KNOW if your gate is A Side or B side, it is divided in half with Hyatt in center, you will save time and stress with this one step. Navigation systems may not be your friend at international airports, arrive early. Our rental return with Hertz, once we found it (A or B side? ) Went well, checked in and assigned driver to drop us off in car we had just returned at Hyatt Hotel at airport. Hopefully improvements going on during visit will ultimately include better signage for rental returns, terminals, hotel...This would be a huge help.

I had a good experience with this airport. Even though they are doing construction, the roads to get to your terminal are logical and easy to navigate. I like the decorations that they have at this airport. The Christmas trees at all the terminals are a nice touch. At JetBlue, my check in process was quick and easy. Also, security was fairly fast as well. I think the only gripe was that the restroom could have been cleaner and the train to get to our gate took a long time to arrive. Otherwise, I would definitely fly through here again.
